I respectfully disagree with your stance on what Trump is doing in DC. We have no idea what is going on as far as the disclosures to come . That’s good. It’s important to question everything. And, I said an argument could be made for DC, although it should fall to Congress. I have since learned that there may, and I emphasize, MAY, be a section 740 authority for Trump to take control of DC police. But, I don't believe that would include placing troops in DC to act as police.
Regardless, section 740 would not apply to cities in US states. The article is more a response to some folks who take the automatic stance that when it’s their guy, all behavior is good, without any ability to use discernment. The last thing any Trump supporter should want, is for Trump to get bad advice from Suzie Wiles, and actually act on it.
