In yesterday's article about 9/11 “Never Forgotten”, I ended it with a description of the power-struggle problems that occurred with new leadership in Afghanistan and Iraq, after we replaced the old cabal with the new cabal. Today, I want to point out the similarities with problems seen in the Lee REC, recently. I’m repeating the pertinent portion of the article here
Afghanistan and Iraq
There’s not much to say… today… on the disasters that are: The Patriot Act, or the ineffective War on Terror. But, in light of the current infighting at the Lee REC, I can’t help but see some parallels. When U.S. Intelligence assisted the reformists in Afghanistan to fill the power vacuum and replace the Taliban, we thought that Afghanistan would become a free nation which would work with the west. They finally got rid of the old cabal, and became a model for the region in the installation of a friendly regime.
But, as so often happens, the replacement government soon fell to corruption and egos. In part, because of undue influence from Taliban infiltration into the new government, and in part, because power corrupts, and egos become more important than the mission. Was it better than the Taliban? Yes, in many ways it was. But, in one way, it was worse. When you replace the old cabal of authoritarians with a new band of authoritarians, it diminishes the spirit of those who worked so hard to get this over the finish line. Next time, many may simply say “Why bother? They’re just going to become the same as the old boss”.
Similar issues arose in Baghdad. The new regime became corrupted, and infiltrated by multiple entities, none of whom had western civilization near and dear to their hearts.
Similarities in Lee REC
So, when the new cabal calls members of the Lee REC on the phone, and says if we don’t stop this infighting, we’ll end up back in the hands of the old cabal… I would say “Aren’t they already back in charge, already puppeteering?” I will remind you of what started all of this infighting? Or, maybe you never knew it.
Several of us quickly recognized that the new cabal was being puppeteered by the old cabal. So, it’s not the infighting that will hand it back to the old cabal, they’ve already done that. The current board should be upholding their campaign platform, but instead they fight for everything that the RINOs want. It is the selfish behavior of the current board, especially Michael Thompson and Tara Jenner, that led us here:
Based on appearance, and multiple reports, it appeared that the Chair and Vice Chair were colluding with Andrew Sund to stop the Ban the Jab Resolution from getting passed, if they couldn’t outright keep it from even coming up for a vote.
It was reported by Adele Amico that Michael stated at the RPOF meeting, just before our February meeting, that resolutions were a waste of time, and Ban the Jab would never even come up, because there was a 2-hour timer on the meeting. Caldwell gave a ‘thumbs up’.
Shortly after that, Michael engaged in a character assassination campaign against Adele. He even sent her a nasty email, when she had the unmitigated gall to put her name in the offering, when Michael asked for someone to be the Communications Standing Committee Chair.
Michael fired Chris Quackenbush, and later, Ted Reese, as Interim Election Integrity Chairs, who both kept going after the machines.
According to Ted Reese, Michael called Ted and said he just had lunch with Christian Ziegler, who said he would consider Michael for chairing an RPOF Committee, if he put a stop to resolutions, especially BTJ and anything that attacks the machines. We can only go after the ERIC system (which was already slated to be replaced). That’s like swatting a dead fly.
The board used every petty excuse to keep Ted Reese’s EI res from being added to the March agenda. Why? Because “not on the agenda” = invalid, null, and void.
Per Kim Reese, Michael told her that she needs to stop recruiting new members.
Caldwell called for going to every-other-month meetings in the March meeting.
Thompson quickly calls for going to every-other-month meetings after the March meeting, and somehow ties it to punishment for amending the agenda.
After the March meeting, Michael publishes a public video, calling on REC members to boo and shout down Bob and Joe, or anyone who makes a motion that the chair doesn’t want. Ed Drass, Ed Jackimowicz, Denise Nystrom, Sierra Susko, and others did exactly that in the July meeting, shouting things out, like it’s an episode of the Jerry Springer Show.
Michael and the board begin a campaign to improperly fire Kim Reese as Chair of the Membership Standing Committee.
The board meets with much resistance of this authoritarian action from the majority of members. They begin to backtrack, and author trumped up reasons to replace her. But, even if any of these accusations were true, the process is to bring it up for a vote at the next REC meeting, which they failed to do in July, and again in September. Instead, they improperly disbanded all Standing Committees, which the REC directed to be instituted. Only a vote of the REC can disband those Committees.
According to multiple reports, Denise Nystrom called members and said if we don’t blindly allow this board to act in an authoritarian manner, we will end up with the old cabal. Alright, to be fair, she said if we don’t stop the infighting, Terry Miller will regain control, but the infighting began because this board began to adhere to the RINO establishments tactics, and mimic Caldwell’s destruction, I mean direction. We already have been taken back over, without a shot fired. They are puppeteering this board, just like they did the last.
So, today, “We Never Forget”. Never.
More Disturbing Behavior
In addition to Lee members who have been abused by the chair, I have spoken to a lot of people across the state, regarding his behavior. His antics are becoming well known, and not in a positive way. This reflects on Lee County, negatively. And, it’s getting exponentially worse. One way, or another, it must stop.
In one instance, it was reported to me that Michael was soliciting cooperation for statewide support to get ‘his’ EI resolution passed in other RECs. Upon reading it, one quickly sees that it is coincidentally verbatim to Ted Reese’s EI Resolution that we passed in March with an overwhelming 90% support. Michael and the board (except JD) did everything they could to stop that resolution from coming up, and now that we passed it in spite of his efforts to stop it, he’s passing it off as his own? Really, plagiarism? That’s a Joe Biden move.
Just yesterday, I received a call from someone in Pinellas County, who is setting up a chapter of The Florida Republican Assembly. She told me of her interactions with Michael on one of his many Signal chats…
Her friend, Bobby Palermo, wrote and performed the 2016 song “Make America Great Again” during Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign (embedded below). He offered to perform the song at no charge, and Michael responds in the strangest way.
Michael belittles people’s efforts of creating uJoin petitions or sending emails to people across the state, when all they have to do is pick up the phone and call him, and he’ll get your agenda done himself. All roads lead through Michael.
She explains to him that she has been trying to reach him by phone to put Bobby and Michael in touch with each other.
Michael berates her for “trying to get her friend to perform for the President”, instead of working on “so many more important things”. All she wanted to do was offer up a connection to help him out.
She sent me the screencaps of the exchange.
This is just one of dozens of stories told to me from people across the state, just trying to pitch in, help out, be a part of the America-First movement. But, con-men can’t have competition, and con-men can’t have a lot of people around. Maybe that’s why, in the chat, he responds that the chat has “gotten too many new people in it”, and he needs to go create a new chat with just a handful of people, so he can control them. I can’t help but wonder if that’s why he tried to order Kim Reese to stop bringing in new members. Maybe that’s one of the reasons he needed to get rid of Kim, the other being retaliation for Ted Reese’s EI Resolution getting passed. There is a pattern of behavior unbecoming of an officer of the LCREC.
Tomorrow begins a new chapter in the LCREC
Hopefully, we can begin a new chapter in the history of the Lee County REC. A chapter whereby the board understands its role, and acts as servants, not masters; a Board that understands the limits of an Executive Board, instead of thinking and acting as if they were a Board of Directors. They aren’t a BOD. If anything, the Executive Committee functions as more of a BOD, directing the EB to:
Carry out directions from the EC.
Handle the day to day operations between meetings, in an open and transparent manner.
Facilitate the meetings, in the following manner
Unbiased - Board members should never let their biases be known.
Fair - Rules applied evenly and equally to all, not cherry picked.
Friendly - Stop taking adversity as a personal affront.
Not everything is about you.Productive - We have a lot to accomplish with very little time to do it.
A board that understands that their role is to request from,
and recommend to, the EC. Not the other way around.Understand that subcommittees answer and report to the EC, not the EB. Otherwise, they would be called sub-boards.
And finally, to follow the decision of the EC, once deliberated.
Situations like the improper disbanding of Standing Committees, or
The firing of the chair of said committees will never be tolerated by an educated REC. No more usurpation of authority not delegated to board members.
What will the vote process be?
It has been requested by the motion maker, that the Lee REC conduct this vote on a secret paper ballot, placed in a clear receptacle at the front of the room, and the ballots read aloud by several members, and tallied on a whiteboard for all members to see. For one thing, it is the same way the board was elected, so it makes sense. And, for another, with all of the stories from so many members about retaliation and bullying by the chair, many people have expressed fear of retaliation. Understandably so. As of the writing of this article, the board has not responded to the request. This is disheartening. Does this mean that each and every board member now openly supports the bullying and retaliation tactics? I surely hope not. I urge every member to support the use of a secret ballot for this motion.
Who will be the new chair?
Members keep asking me this, as if we’re going to collapse without Michael Thompson at the helm!!! When asked, I answer this way…
It shouldn’t matter, so long as they constrain themselves to the confines of delegated authority. With that said, I believe there are several people who have clearly demonstrated that they do not fit that description. I’m not going to name names, here, but if they are nominated, I will be making my views clearly known.
And, to those that think anyone is doing this to position themselves to replace Michael, I can honestly tell you that no members of “LCREC Concerned Members”, have stated any intention of throwing their names in the hat, although any one of them are qualified, based on my description above. This isn’t about who WILL be chairing, but about who will NOT be chairing the meetings, going forward.
“Won’t removing Michael just make Tara the new chair?”
No. She would become the Interim Chair, for up to 60 days, until we hold elections, at which time she is eligible to throw her name in the hat, just like the rest of the 300. We have a lot of new members. That’s exciting, but also challenging. We have a lot of new blood; a large pool of qualified candidates; fresh ideas. But, this is also challenging, in that we don’t necessarily know them as well as we might like to. This is why it is so important that no matter who becomes the Chair, they operate as a facilitator, not a dictator. This is also why the member training is so important, and needs to be approved by the REC, before being implemented. Because it is up to us to never let this happen again.
What happens if Michael isn’t removed?
The simple answer is “That’s up to Michael”. As I see it, he has two options:
He is humbled by the experience, and works doubly hard to mend his previous destruction. He becomes all inclusive. Stops taking credit for other people’s work. He becomes a servant, not a master.
He is emboldened and doubles down his authoritarianism. Things get worse. Morale, what’s left of it, goes in the trash. More and more members quit. Their time is too precious to waste on this nonsense. None of the work to stop the Democrats, Uniparty, Deep-State Globalists gets accomplished. But, Michael finally gets an RPOF Committee Chairmanship. So, hoorah for that.
Hopefully, tonight ushers in the needed change in Lee County’s REC, but if he retains his board position for the remaining 15 months, let’s hope it’s a more productive atmosphere, whereby members are emboldened to contribute freely, and the board simply facilitates a platform for all members to contribute. That is the paramount purpose of a political party.
I wrote a pamphlet to encourage people to join the REC last year and understand the importance of it, but with limited funds did not print that many -- maybe 50 and distributed it. I did, however, give a copy of the pamphlet to Sebastian Gorka when he was at the Freedom Forum in Sanford on a Saturday, since I quoted him in it from the last time I saw him. I was surprised when he read about 75% of the pamphlet on the following Monday to open his show. At the time I did not put my name on it but I did in the letter I gave him. I believe REC's need better literature to explain the process and what you are doing is helping. I'm setting up a SubStack now myself, but still find it better, for me, to be able to talk to local people face-to-face and hand them something. Here is a link to a dramatic reading of my pamphlet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4Vt-44FxOY&t=4s
We had this problem in Seminole County but most of the America-first citizens were also members of Grassroots For America and they held educational classes on the Robert's Rules of Order, then someone hired the same certified parliamentarian to attend the meetings with us-- which the RPOF Constitution and/or by-laws required. We forced them to use those procedures. It stopped the bullying. Not sure if Lee County citizens were able to try that yet.
